I remember the first conversation with bride-to-be Stephanie (nicknamed Stevie) very well. She had this over the top, larger than life, personality but was also warm and caring. I smiled hearing her talk about herself and tell the story of how her and her soon to be husband met. She's the type of person you could never be bored in her company. Stevie has a history in theater productions and wanted a wedding dramatic and jaw dropping. She wanted guests to stunned by its beauty when they walked in the door. She never pictured herself getting married in a barn, but ended up really liking the barn at General Potter Farm. The style we were going for was titled Glam Barn. Nothing rustic but more vintage with a sort of elegant Great Gatsby nod; all the while feeling romantic and fresh. Stevie has great taste and I knew planning her wedding would be a fun adventure.
Stevie and her fiance, Matt, happen to live in Texas. Part of why she hired a planner was the distance and the other part was their insanely busy work schedules. I have worked with several clients who live a distance away, but I knew this bride had a specific vision and it was hard for her not being here in person. Kelly, Stevie's mom, lives locally and was a great partner in helping put into action the details that needed done. The three of us spent many hours on the phone, face-timing, and texting pictures back and forth; to get the details perfect. The three of us made an excellent team and I miss those planning sessions. You can see images all of our hard work below captured by the very talented (and great to work with) Nick Finochio Photgraphy.
First the bride and her gals got ready at the Residence Inn; while Matt and the guys at the nearby by Courtyard by Marriott.
Below is the bride and her mom Kelly relaxing and enjoying all their hard work.
The biggest concern of the day ended up being the weather. The downstairs of General Potter was set up perfectly for cocktail hour with a pub feel (another of Stevie's awesome ideas). The problem was that it would have been hard to move that stuff around and that location was the back up for rain. It rained pretty heavily showers most of the morning and early afternoon on the big day; but was to clear out by the time the ceremony was to start. To compromise we set up the the bench rentals and ceremony right outside the cocktail hour space, so guests could get inside easily if the showers came back. Luckily the weather held of and the ceremony went off perfectly.
Seriously is this ring bearer below not one of the cutest ever?
If you notice the aisle markers below she has the "Love is patient, love is kind.." verses going down both sides.
The picture above was taken after they were announced married, and I don't these two ever stopped smiling the rest of the night. The whole night was a fun celebration of great food, live music, and laughter. The decor details that we wanted to wow the guests with certainly did the job. For that we have to thank the talented Lisa and her staff from Woodrings Floral Gardens for the amazing flowers. Also the finishing touches with some of the decorations and furniture came from GHR Rental Boutique I think we may have booked the most rentals from GHR ever! They had just the right pieces though to go with the glam barn style.
The flowers on the hanging ladder in the image below was above the sweetheart table, and my favorite focal point.
Honestly there are so many wonderful images from this day I could share, but the blog post would be way too long. To see more head to my Facebook page here; and look for the album named Stevie & Matt.
Big shout out to all the vendors who made this day possible! Thank you everyone for giving our couple their dream wedding!
